LITTLE ELM — Sherman came away with a point in district action after a 3-2 shootout loss against Little Elm in 17-4A play on Tuesday night.
After a scoreless first half, Brian Aguilera had a goal off an assist by Travis Wiley eight minutes into the second half to put the Bearcats in front. But Little Elm scored off a corner kick with 20 minutes left that led to the shootout.
The first two round passed without a goal before Sherman jumped ahead as Edgar Ramirez scored. But Little Elm answered with its third attempt and then avoided sudden-death by converting its fifth and final attempt.
Sherman (8-6-2, 2-2-1) hosts Prosper on Friday as district play continues.

Denison 5, Durant 0
The Yellow Jackets opened an early lead and were never threatened in a shutout victory against Durant on Tuesday night at Munson Stadium.
Hayden Cottingame and Dalton Perkins converted penalty kicks and then Dalton Hestand scored off an assist by Dillion Butterworth right before the first half ended.
Rian Conrad knocked in a goal from Justin Delmont and then Orlando Macedo finished off the scoring for Denison (5-7-3).
Kaleb Rice and Michael Moran didn’t need to make a save as they combined on the shutout for the Jacket, who return to district play at McKinney North on Friday night.
