Ryan Greewood allowed an unearned run and helped his cause with an insurance RBI as Denison opened its season with a 3-1 non-district victory against Little Elm on Monday night at Denison.
Connor Counce had a sacrifice fly in the first inning before Little Elm tied the game in the fourth. The Jackets added two runs in the fifth when Kaleb Thomas singled, Tanner Lott doubled and a passed ball put Denison in front before Greenwood’s RBI single.
Thomas had two hits, including a double, and Greenwood scattered three hits, walked two and struck out six for Denison (1-0), which will face Rockwall at 11 a.m. and Fort Worth Brewer at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at Brewer in the Denton Tournament.
