ANNA — A three-pointer at the buzzer lifted Whitesboro to a 58-55 victory against Celina in a Class 3A Region II bi-district game at Anna High School on Monday night.
The Bearcats (16-10) ralled from a 13-point deficit after the first quarter and will face Lovejoy in the area round later this week.
Weston Walsh scored 12 points while Matt Hobbs finished with 11 points, Collin Kilcrease chipped in 10 and Trey Eleazer and Ryan Schuessler scored eight points apiece for Whitesboro.
T.J. Grant had 17 points to lead Celina while Deshawn Davis scored 11 points and Collin Clark and Braylon Brown finished with 10 points apiece.

Gunter 46, Leonard 40
PROSPER — Richard Young and J Bailey powered Gunter’s comeback victory against Leonard in a bi-district round game at Prosper on Monday night.
Young had nine of his 14 points and Bailey had seven of his 11 points in the final eight minutes as Gunter outscored Leonard by 10 points in the fourth.
Brian Hillman added nine points for Gunter (19-6), which faces Brock at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Argyle in the area round.
Storm Taylor scored 12 points while Blake Hicks, Jacob Redmon and Tyler Turner added eight points apiece for Leonard (20-13).
