Travis Brewster, Madison Carter and Luke Moran each had two hits and scored all of fifth-ranked Grayson County College’s runs in an 8-2 nine-inning win over New Mexico Junior College on Sunday at Dub Hayes Field.
Brewster finished 2-for-5 and Carter finished 2-for-3, each with three runs scored. Moran batted 2-for-2 with two doubles, two walks and two runs scored.
Shane Henderson went five innings and shook off a two-run first inning to allow only two hits, striking out six. Matt Ferria closed out the save with four hitless, scoreless innings, with five Ks and two walks.
Homer Ortiz, who had three RBI on the day, plated two runs on an infield error in the bottom of the third to put Grayson on top for good.
Grayson (6-4) will finish its series with NMJC with a twin bill today at noon.
