Every now and then, I run across information that is completely useless to 99.9 percent of the world, yet it’s still fun. Below are a few of the recent items I found.
Is the information factual? I have no idea, but I’m sure anyone with some time on their hands could research it to see. What concerns me is that people actually had enough spare time to come up with this!
• Butterflies taste with their feet.
• A man named Charles Osborne had the hiccups for 69 years.
• Bamboo plants can grow up to 36 inches in a day.
• If you keep a goldfish in a dark room, it will eventually turn white.
• Most burglaries occur during the daytime.
• One barrel of petroleum holds 42 gallons.
• It takes six months to build a Rolls Royce and 13 hours to build a Toyota.
• More than 50 percent of Americans fall asleep on their sides.
• A standard slinky, when stretched out, would measure 87 feet.
• “Dreamt” is the only English word that ends in the letters mt.
• Almonds are members of the peach family.
• Rubber bands last longer when refrigerated.
• Peanuts are one of the ingredients of dynamite.
• Dueling is legal in Paraguay as long as both parties are registered blood donors.
• February 1865 is the only month in recorded history not to have a full moon.
• The first novel ever written on a typewriter was Tom Sawyer.
• If the population of China walked past single file, the line would never end because of the rate of reproduction.
