The spiffing up continues at Grayson County’s community college. Now that the buildings are all modernized and offer the latest in technology for students, the name could be the next thing to get tweaked.
GCC trustees will consider dropping a “C”, the one that stands for County, when they meet at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. The college would be called simply Grayson College if the move is approved.
In addition to the name change, the group will also consider:
• EDA grant for Career and Technical programs building on the South Campus;
• renewal of BSU building lease with the Grayson Baptist Association;
• changes to the wording of the salary schedules;
• contract extensions for staff that report to the college president.
In addition, the Board will hear reports about enrollment and student success as well as reports from the business office and President Alan Scheibmeir.
