Registered Nurse Katie Skeans, who works for the Grayson County Health Department, will be holding an informational meeting at 2 p.m. on Feb. 22 at the Sherman Public Library to give people facts about pneumonia and flu vaccines, prevention of pneumonia and flu, preventing dehydration and preventing urinary tract infections.
Skeans said the Health Department is able to host the meeting because of a state grant it received to try to help lower the number of hospitalizations in the county due to flu ,pneumonia, and urinary tract infections. Everyone is invited to attend Skeans said. The information will be presented at the library, 421 North Travis, but neither Skeans nor the grant are affiliated with the library.
